I have my boys in bunk beds, (4,3) how occasionally does he sleepwalk? and how old is the youngest? I would try first buy the bunk bed and set as 2 twins with the top rails on that way he has to get used to getting on and off at the foot of the bed, and explain to him that he has to do it that way so you can bunk the beds. try that for a month or two then bunk them and see how he does. My oldest has a weak bladder and i was worried about putting him on the top bunk afraid he would not be able to get down in time to go potty and that is how i trained him now it is like second nature. I hope this helps. Good luck.

He is 5 and sleeps walks about twice a month, but he isnt conscience, he cant hear you and doesnt respond, I just have a fear that he will fall off the bed. But your idea above is good, if I get them I will try that first. My other son is one.

Hyla, my only thing about bunk beds is that my kids hate the top bunk. Howie and Noah are still on them and they have to switch on and off every day. Dessi and Heaven, well we got them a full bed because they were sharing the bottom bunk.
Is Celtic okay with the idea of being on top?
As far as the sleepwalking, that would scare me too. What about one of those beds that you have the bed under that pulls out? I'm not sure what they are called.

I think it is called a trundle bed? I will have to look into it.

That's what I was thinking, but then I thought maybe I was wrong.

Yeah, then I thought, well with Celtic sleep walking, he would step on his brother........so...

Maybe he could sleep on the bottom one? Sheamus would still only be on a normal bed and you wouldn't have to worry.
